Asturias-based act Tigre y Diamante is one of those bands you don’t want to miss. Their unique punk-pop garage style has captivated critics and audiences throughout Spain at every festival and venue where they have performed, including appearances at Sonorama Ribera, O Son do Camiño, Interestellar, Warm Up, Tsunami and BIME.
The band, formed by Jon Álvarez (vocals and guitar) and Coke Makaha (drums and backing vocals) released its first LP, Buena Gente, as a duo (Family Spree, 2019). During the pandemic, Tigre y Diamante rounded up its sound and raised the bets by bringing in Sete Deville (guitars) and Iker González (keyboards) for its next record, Qué asco más rico (Astro / Ataque!, 2022), ten songs produced by Ángel Kaplan.
The band was later joined by Alex Carantoña on bass guitar and Jaime Marcos on guitars, thus forming the lineup that recorded their rite-of-passage work, Actitud ganadora.
Latest release
The latest release of Tigre y Diamante is Actitud ganadora (Astro / Ataque!, 2023), an overwhelming, complete, hard-hitting record produced by Pablo Martínez (Desakato) at OVNI studios.
The band is currently supporting this release with performances around Spain. Their live performances and rave reviews have led to Tigre y Diamante hitting a one-night sold out at Madrid’s Sala Maravillas and two consecutive sold outs at Sala Tizón in their hometown, Gijón.
